Saturday is Andy's birthday, and marks the beginning of a 6 week run with 5 birthdays in it...
I've not actually gotten Andy anything... but I am baking a cake for him... well, I'm experimenting - sponge cake and brioche spiralled together...I tried it out last night, and it worked pretty well, only the brioche didnt take very long to cook at all, so it's ended up a bit more like a scone, but not quite so dry. I have a couple of ideas to make it more how I imagined, but it'll still be an experiment, however it comes out tomorrow morning, is what Andy will be getting as his birthday cake! lol
but I'm only baking the cake, I'm not icing or filling it with anything... that he can do for himself. I'm making up a kit with some jams and cream for the fillings, and I was thinking of doing a 'Left Overs Trifle' kit with a miniture of whisky or brandy, a packet of jelly, and custard and sprinkles...

on the job front, my assessment day seemed to go well, so now I'm just waiting for a phone call to find out if I've gotten the job... fingers (still) crossed :)
